Bethany by ShadowedPorcelain Bethany by ShadowedPorcelain

Bethany
Birthday: March 24, 2013
Height: 7 inches sitting

This was a struggle as the headshape was entirely different from what I am used to. The spots are painted on by hand with pastels. (They do not rub off)

Please note that the color might not be 100% the same in real life depending on your display monitor settings

Thank you for your kind words. Actually when I finished it, the first thing I thought was it looks different from the rest of my work. I think the main difference is that I needle sculpted versus needle felted the face

Wow!!!!!!! O_O This turned out great Laine!!!!! I love the choice of eyes for this doll! Very fitting :) and her spots are just too cute!!!!! I thought you were going to needle felt the face, but it look very good without it XD. I suppose roving wool on minky would be weird... Great job!!!! She's too cute :)

Thank you

I actually used the same eyes I include in the kits. The 7mm. I felted eyelids around them. Yes I'm not sure if a heavy amount of wool in minky would look right now. I also didn't have a pale yellow to match.

The ones I used for my fox commissions were amethyst colored. All I did was felt around it with two colors

Well the colors you use to felt around the eyes really changed the look of your doll than.

Aww thanks but I just used the white and brown I usually used just in different proportions. I did the same thing with my puppy and elephant

Oh my gosh! This looks so different from what you usually make!
She's adorable though (。’▽’。)♡ ~
I think that the minky makes her look so unique compared to the mohair (not saying I dislike mohair or that it's not unique ; o ;..just that it's a change from your normal material so it gives off a different vibe).
The spots are so soft and beautiful looking as well - she's very elegant ~

Aww thank you. I think you would feel the same if I did the other way around with usually minky and occasionally mohair. Something different is nice though. I feel like the minky looks more like a cuddly child's toy

(⌒▽⌒)☆ you're very welcome!
I suppose you're right though, but either way a bit of a change is always refreshing ~
I agree that minky does look a bit more cuddly, I thought that Bethany looked almost like a baby's toy when I first saw this photo ; u ;
