Oh goshhh this is so adorable Laine! Nice colours aa. I think you've gotten a lot better since doing Peachys bunny actually! I'm not very educated when it comes to crafting but I think you're getting better and better! <3
Thanks hun. Your kind words mean a lot to me. I am always nervous before I start felting faces, so it is always gratifying when it comes out right. I also love the look of glass eyes in pieces. I feel it reflects a more life like light when compared to plastic
pfftt noo I think I'm a long way from that XDD I'm afraid not Just gotta finish off this year of school, and I'll launch right back into art C: oh- one thing, do you ever find it's really hard to felt things like arms/legs? I'm not sure how you make them, though several instructions on making dolls from books would suggest that you make them separately and attach them to the main doll. But one time, it was very hard for me to felt them, it just didn't stick together.
I thought so! You know, with your needle felting works I love the fact that you're able to felt everything so tightly (if you'd call it that? xD) so that it looks very put together and smooth around the edges. I've noticed that some others less experienced in felting tend to have more "fluffy" and loosened edges. Ahah, don't worry about that though -- take your grand old time (✿◠‿◠) ~
The trick sometimes is to felt to your consistency without overfelting (cause you'll break needles), then you take a clipper or needles and trim the fuzzies. I wish I could take it to the next level and felt even cleaner, but sadly no. Have you tried felting before?
Oh, that's a good tip!! I'm sure with more time you'll definitely reach that next level though, you've come so far already (❁´◡`❁) I myself haven't tried felting as of yet, but I think once my exam period is over and I've gotten everything out of the way I'm going to give it a go. It seems so much more free than sewing, which is a plus for me because I have no patience xD
With felting, depending on what you want to do, it can take time. For me this piece took at least 7 hours. It's just a different type of patience between sewing and felting. I feel like felting is more like sculpting in that you can use metal frames and such
Thank you. I was really nervous because needle felting isn't my forte, but I'm pleased with how it came out. I was sorta at a lost how to incorporate stars into the piece. I loved how you pixeled the ears with a little more orangish shade than just a harsh yellow <3
